Christmess | by LC Cooper Jan. 16, 2012 | $0.99 | 50235 words | Sample 50% |
| Author bio: Lady Chatterly Cooper, or LC Cooper as she became known, remains a Lady of the '80s. Pink high-tops (autographed by Rick Springfield) and checkerboard waffle Vans (a la "Fast Times at Ridgemont High") complement her ensemble of Jane Fonda leg warmers and Madonna junk jewelry. Because she's no longer perky and petite, parachute pants are a necessity and not a lingering fashion statement. She maintains her own sense of style and grace. Her daughters, Tiffany, Farah, and Demi, and her sons, Milli, Vanilli, and Bruce don't think so. Disenchanted that she wasn't "discovered" while a groupie for Culture Club, Wild West and Wham, LC set a course for self respect and began writing. Her first book was a biography about that lovely couple, Sean Penn and Madonna. Although the project tanked, LC caught the writing bug. Gone were the days of scrawling invitations on men's-room walls. LC hit the big time when Thunderbox Press published her kiss-and-tell exposé entitled, "Speedo Libido." Although some washed-up rockers found humor in it, ("Yeah, I shagged her," Rod Stewart supposedly said, "but who didn't I bang in the '80s?"), others, such as PeeWee Herman ("she was too old for me") and George Michael ("she doesn't even look like a dude") might have been offended. VH1 canned the TV series based on the book when a test audience preferred to see Ozzy flitting around his house in a dress instead of watching LC's aged, saggy boobs flop around in her red one-piece swimsuit in slow motion on camera. Once again trashed by the music industry, brokenhearted LC withdrew from the limelight and bought a secluded ranch in The Everglades. Not able to grow much in all that muck, the stinking goo inspired her second novel, "Stick in the Mud." This satire chronicled the price-fixing practices of the Recording Industry Association of Antarctica. Thumbing its nose at consumers, governments, and free-trade around the world, the RIAA fought to suppress "Stick in the Mud." Written from a male point-of-view, the book details how the RIAA takes the consumer up a dark and dirty path where no woman can go. These days, LC enjoys spending long weekends with her David Hasselhoff inflatables. Whenever her dolls are worn out, LC manages the writing careers of her six children. When that happens, they buy her more dolls. ### |

| Author bio: I don't think saying 'I'm a writer' is enough to describe what I actually do. I like to entertain, and I use writing as a medium to do that. That then makes me a (and yeah, I obviously use a keyboard),... a... what's a good word? How about, a Pen-tertainer? I'm a Pentertainer ... I write quite wacky stuff, which is just the way it comes; it makes me laugh, and I hope the reader gets a good old guffaw too. I also write wellbeing books, which deal with feeling good ... life is all about remembering how to feel good. frankielassut1@aol.com drop me an e mail it's good to hear off people. Check out my website, see if you like the gallery. Hmmm. Whan a 'work' is ready, it's loaded onto the Smashwords system. It is converted into the different files, and then goes live. The author/publisher then has to wait for it to be checked so it's fully compatible with the system ... before it goes into the Premium Catalogue'. During this time, people download it, but, there may be errors or mistakes of a bit of lousy formatting, all of which will be fixed. Therefore, if you've downloaded something that may be a bit dodgy in places, that's why. |

Nyssa part 1: Love Notes To A Stranger (Unillustrated). | by James Curcio Jan. 03, 2012 | $0.99 | 3828 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: James Curcio creates dystopian propoganda for a generation of hedonists, intellectuals, and drug addicts. Rumors of being a key member of a harem of feral lesbians are slightly exaggerated, however. Previous brain-washing agents have taken the form of subversive novels, essays, scripts for comic and films, albums, soundtracks, podcasts, and performances. They were distributed to the eyes and ears of an unwitting and impressionable public through internet, print, and social media. In a move that may telegraph some kind of psychotic break, he's also acted in the world's first Gonzomentary. He has written for Disinformation, New Falcon Press, Reality Sandwich, Immanion Press, Alterati, and several other indie outlets. He's also worked as art and content director, web designer, SEO assassin, sex ninja robot assassin, and once made an egg stand on its end with the force of will alone. |

Santa, the Fat, Costumed, Freak! | by Troy Veenstra Dec. 19, 2011 | $0.99 | 1465 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: As a child I grew up in Wyoming, Michigan the eldest child of 2 sisters and 2 brothers, (including another half brother). At around the age of 15 I was forced to take control as head of the household when my parents divorced, more or less forcing me to take on the responsibility of raising my sister Laura (my sister Alisha, the youngest of the two going with my mother) and my brother Eric as well as taking care of my father in the months that followed after his health diminished. At the age of 16 I was forced to quit high school, and sought employment to help take care of my father and his continued health issues, though by then my mother had won custody of all my sibblings. In January 1998, my father passed away after taking a fall a few days after christmas, at that time, with how my life was going and my outlook on things (Way Emo) i was hoping for his death as it was the only way at that time that i felt my life would have a purpose or meaning, i was starting to hate all my friends and family members who had gone on to college, found lovers, and started having famlies of their own, while my life was a constant rut. In the end he passed away and I went to live with my maternal grandparents, who taught be a lot about the real world, life, love, and family. In 2000 after the passing of both my grandparents, I went back to school and received my GED. In 2004, thanks to the assistance of a pastor (John Collins), I was able to go to college and major in pre-law. While at college I took on several other areas of study to include, diversity in society, psychology, philosophy, sociology, history and humanities. These classes helped me in understanding a lot about my full potential as well as the world around me. In 2005 I became a volunteer for CASA (court Appointed Special Advocates) for abused and Negelcted children, and did this until late 2009 when my own health issues began to interfer with my daily life. Having no insurance because of a cheap employer (Advance Securtiy) i either ignored my health issues or went to free clinics which were able to extend things. In December of 2010 thanks to the New Health Care Act i was able to obtain health insurace, only to find out a few months ago that i have NASH, more or less known as Non-Alcoholic Liver Issues, and that i now have 5 - 15 years before i will need a liver transplant, that is of course if i can get my other health issues in check before that time. Writing Motivation: What motivates me to write is my ability to always think and see things from outside of the box... in fact for me there is no box, I just have an odd way of looking at things. Or as some of my professors said in college, "I live in a constant state of parinoia." which i agree is true. Genres: Currently my most recent work is in the genre of historical fiction (Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession) My reasons for writing about the Titanic as an historical fiction derived from an idea that my grandfather had about the titanic being sunk on purpose. Following this idea I created the novel which shows the possibility of this notion as well as digs deeper into the heart of mans vengeance and the wrath of God. Add to this a book i just came out with called "The heat of Passion Doctrine: Kill your Spouse and Get Away with Murder" and one can see that obscured world i live in... Future works: I am also working on 2 other novels at the moment, one titled "Reasons to be Missed" that deals with a young girl dealing with the troubles in her life (cancer and love life issues). As well as working on a book about the murder of my Cousin Jeff Dryden who was abused by his Girlfriend who eventually killed him buy stabbing him in the neck when he decided to leave her. This book is very dear to my heart and is taking me a little bit longer than expected but i am working on it. This site is my way of letting my fans know more about me as well as obtain copies of my works both ebook and print at a discounted rate. Thanks for reading and being a fan... |

All Hallows Eve | by David Eveleigh Dec. 16, 2011 | $1.99 | 44912 words | Sample 50% |
| Author bio: I'm a professionally trained artist who loves writing and drawing. I'm also an unrepentant sensationalist that feels modern storytelling has become so preoccupied with pretentious ideals (most of which have no meaning outside the given context) that it has forgotten how to entertain. Since fiction isn't real, no matter how "gritty" or "realistic" you try to make it, I believe its focus should therefore be on spectacle and exploring ideas that cannot be approached from a "realist" standpoint. So far, I've published "Leech" in the Kindle store and am working on my "All Hallows Eve" superhero series here on Smashwords. I'm a huge film and animation buff and I love hearing feedback. So don't be shy. Official "All Hallows Eve" merchandise is now available in my Zazzle store. A Wizard for Christmas | by Dorothy McFalls Dec. 14, 2011 | $0.99 | 20332 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Award-winning author Dorothy McFalls was born in New York but raised in South Carolina. She makes her home on an artsy beach community in South Carolina with her husband, impish dog and fluffy cat. Though writing has always been a passion for her, she pursued an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Urban Planning. She then put her educational experience to use, having worked in all branches and all levels of government including local, regional, state, and federal. She even spent time during college working for a non-profit environmental watchdog organization. Switching from government service and community planning to fiction writing wasn't as big of a change as some might think. Her government work was all about the stories of the people and the places where they live. As an urban planner, Dorothy loved telling the stories of the people she met. And from that, her desire to tell the stories that were so alive in her heart grew until she could not ignore it any longer. In 2001, she took a leap of faith and pursued her dream of writing fiction full-time. Now an award-winning multi-published author, Dorothy enjoys writing in several different genres. Her works have been nominated for many awards including: Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award, Reviewers International Organization Award, National Reader's Choice Award, CataRomance Reviewers' Choice Award, and The Romance Reviews Today Perfect 10! Award. Reviewers have called her work: "amazing", "perfect", "filled with emotion", and "lined with danger." |
