So who is this guy? First, I'm someone who, over the years, has found himself thrilled, shocked, moved, unnerved, startled, intrigued, baffled, and swept away by a variety of stories from all corners of the human imagination; stories that reached me in nearly every form—books, movies, the spoken word—a story can take. What did my favorite works all have in common? Not a thing, other than that a person took his or her love of language and used it to make a world so astounding I had to visit it again and again. Second, I'm someone who enjoyed my trips to these worlds so much that, after awhile, I decided to try creating a few of my own. Since 2007 I have managed to generate an average of one novel or novella-length story each year, as well as a handful of short stories to accompany them, which I hope to make available here really soon. My screenplay “J’adoube” won the 1990 Florida Screenwriter’s Award and I was off to Hollywood. I have just retired a handwriting analyst, though I continue to act as a consultant. I reside in Palm Springs, Florida with my little Sophie. She’s a dog.

Treapta 1 de liceu la Liceului Sanitar din acelaşi oraş, iar restul cursurilor la „seral”, atât în Turnu-Severin, cât şi în Timişoara. Debutul literar a fost unul timpuriu, la mai puţin de 13 ani, în primăvara anului 1976, câştigând la Calafat, în cadrul Festivalului-concurs de creaţie literară dedicat Independenţei României „Cântec din inimi tinere” Marele Premiu al Tineretului, fapt pentru care, în cartea editată cu lucrările prezentate de creatori, intitulată, la fel ca şi Festivalul, „Cântec din inimi tinere”, la pagina 54, a fost publicată poezia „Legendă”. În 1983, luna martie, fiind militar în trupele de paraşutişti, la Buzău, câştig marele premiu la un concurs de creaţie literară iniţiat şi lansat de publicaţia militară „La datorie”, cu eseul „Înfrăţiţi cu cerul albastru”, deşi lucrarea nu îndeplinea criteriile tehnice (nu era dactilografiată) cerute de organizatori. Drept urmare, devin nu doar colaborator, ci chiar mi se încredinţează rubrici permanente la revistele militare „La datorie”, „Apărarea Patriei” şi „Viaţa Militară”. Ulterior mă orientez către presa sportivă, iar în 5 ianuarie 1990 lansez, la Turnu-Severin, împreună cu regretatul Dumitru Vişan (sufletul şi iniţiatorul acestui proiect) „Săptămâna Fotbalistică”, săptămânal naţional în care semnează, printre alţii: Eugen Barbu, Adrian Păunescu, Ioan Chirilă, Eftimie Ionescu, Dan Claudiu Tănăsescu, Constantin Firănescu, Sorin Satmari, Ion Cupen şi Ovidiu Ioaniţoaia. Fac apoi parte din echipa cotidianului „Sportul românesc”, în paralel publicând şi în „Universul” şi „Timpul”. Din 1993 scriu rubrica permanentă (timp de 13 ani!) „semne de întrebare” din revista „LOTO-PRONO” editată de Compania naţională Loteria Română. Traseul jurnalistic continuă cu perioadele în care scriu la „Gazeta Sporturilor”, „Jurnalul Naţional”, „Ultima Oră”, „Cronica Română”, Oglinda” „Stadion”, „Formula AS”, „Cotidianul” şi altele, dar şi înfiinţez şi conduc o serie de publicaţii locale sau naţionale, după cum ar fi: „Actualitatea sportivă”, săptămânal de informaţie şi atitudine sportivă finanţat de Dumitru Urucu, în care debutează Răzvan Codorean, Silviu Mărculescu şi Crisi Preda (multiplul laureat pentru fotoreportaj al presei sportive din România, acum la Gazeta Sporturilor), Jurnalul de Mehedinţi, Justiţiarul, Observator, Noul Observator, Spirit Nou, Opinia, Vocea Mehedinţiului şi Mehedinţeanul. Colaborez la „Forum” şi „Informaţia de Severin”, realizând şi emisiuni TV la RTS (RadioTeleviziunea Severin). În anul 1999, în urma materialului „Preşdintele României asociat cu hoţii de fundaţii” apărut în cotidianul central „Ultima Oră”, condus de Ion Marin, sunt acţionat în instanţă de preşedintele în exerciţiu al României, la acea dată, Emil Constantinescu. Câştig procesul la Judecătoria Sectorului 1, iar de recurs nu mai este cazul, Constantinescu pierzând alegerile prezidenţiale din anul 2000. Pentru perioade destul de scurte, mai puţin de un an la fiecare, lucrez şi la televiziunile „Antena1” şi „OTV”, la secţiile „Ştiri”. În anul 2007 debutez cu volumul de poezie „La marginea dimineţii” şi romanul „Peron pustiu”, editate la editura ALMA din Craiova. În anul 2008, la aceeaşi editură, apare romanul „Profeţii”, iar în anul 2009, la editura MCT din Timişoara apar romanele „Risipitorii” şi „Călător în calea timpului”. Din 2009 sunt membru al Societăţii Scriitorilor Dunăreni. Am obţinut, de-a lungul timpului, mai multe premii pentru publicistică şi pentru activitatea editorială, dintre care: Premiul de Excelenţă 2008 al Centrului Cultural Mehedinţi, Premiul de Excelenţă 2009, ediţia 1, oferit de Primăria Turnu-Severin, Premiul Eminescu 2009 pentru Poezie, Festivalul Eminescu ediţia a 18-a, Premiul pentru Proză 2010 al Societăţii Scriitorilor Dunăreni.

Lon got started into writing books after being diagnosed in 2004 with congestive heart failure (CHF) contracted from a flu virus. In 2005, he authored his first book from researched work titled: “Kissed by Death: Congestive Heart Failure,” centered on patient’s surviving CHF. During his assignment in England in the 1990’s, Lon’s hobby was writing stories about a paramilitary organization he created known as Air Rescue.
