I worked in manufacturing for over 30 years and climbed the promotion ladder to become the production manager of a facility that made electricity meters. Not an exciting product, but the buzz that came from achieving production targets and the banter with my friends was great. However, I took up a redundancy option in 2003 and set myself up as a freelance writer. I have been supplying articles and short stories to magazines etc. At the moment I am concentrating on writing books for self-publication. I have two books currenly available in print form. More details about me my books and writing services can be found on my website.

Ian Thomas Healy is a prolific writer who dabbles in many different speculative genres. His superhero novel Deep Six: A Just Cause Novel was a Top 100 Semi-finalist in the 2008 Amazon.com Breakthrough Novel Award. He's an eight-time participant and winner of National Novel Writing Month where he's tackled such diverse subjects as sentient alien farts, competitive forklift racing, a religion-powered rabbit-themed superhero, cyberpunk mercenaries, cowboy elves, and an unlikely combination of vampires with minor league hockey. He is also the creator of the Writing Better Action Through Cinematic Techniques workshop, which helps writers to improve their action scenes. His goal is to become as integral to the genre of superhero fiction as William Gibson was to cyberpunk and Anne Rice was to urban fantasy. The first book in his Just Cause Universe series, JUST CAUSE, is available now from New Babel Books. When not writing, which is rare, he enjoys watching hockey, reading comic books (and serious books, too), and living in the great state of Colorado, which he shares with his wife Richelle, his children Patrick, Caitlin, and Zachary, house-pets Smokey, Samwise, Morrigan, Isis, and approximately five million other people. The Destiny Stone Trilogy by Georgia Tribell The Destiny Stone Trilogy by Georgia Tribell May 07, 2012 $2.99 76556 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
I’ve been an avid reader of fiction since I learned there was more out there than the books that were assigned in school. I love to be taken away from reality and shuttled into the future or dropped into the middle of a contemporary adventure, murder mystery and of course a romance. Story telling has always been in my blood and my head, but it wasn’t until later in life that I started putting those stories on paper. I love our world and the time we live in, even with all the problems, which explains why I normally write contemporary romantic suspense. Recently I stepped out of my box and tried my hand at a futuristic romantic suspense. I must admit that trying something so new was exciting, now we’ll just have to see if any thing comes of it. I’m a Texan from the top of my head to my feet, but you’ll seldom see me in a cowboy hat or boots. I attended the University of Houston earning a BA in Computer Information System. From there I went to work for a NASA contractor and spent several enjoyable years helping install and test software in the control center. After leaving that position I ventured into the world of contracting, which was exhausting, before landing a job at Enron. I’m sure you know how that ended, so I won’t bore you with the details. Don’t feel sorry for me though, after Enron left me, I took a job that allowed me to spend more time with my family and concentrate more on my writing. I live in the same town I grew up in with my husband, two boys and two dogs. When I’m not being housekeeper, chauffer, chef, plumber or wife you’ll find me with my laptop typing away and ignoring the mayhem that seems to constantly surround me.

Who are the Literary Underground? We are writers. We are that before and above all else. We are also readers, editors, promotional masters, and graphic artists. We bring our talents together to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a publishing house; we prepare our members’ manuscripts for public consumption. None of our members have given up their rights to their product, and each member maintains full control of the way in which their work will reach their readers – but while our members are self-published, they are never alone, and their work will show the polish of the attention of a group of professionals. We can be irreverent or respectful, disciplined or lazy, cheerful or surly – but we are never incompetent. We are the quiet revolution in the literary world. Can I join the Underground? Membership in Literary Underground is not easy; each of our members has to support the publishing efforts of all the others. If you're interested in membership, contact us at info@litunderground.com. We will carefully review all applicants and accept those who can demonstrate the willingness to contribute to the group, and that they have the time to give to the endeavor. Where can I buy Literary Underground titles? We will post links to each of our members’ works in the Store. Keep your eyes peeled. Who writes the blog? Our members, whenever they feel like it. If they feel they have something to contribute, it is submitted to the blog, reviewed, edited, and posted. Where do I get more information? Send an e-mail to info@litunderground.com. Le Guin, Vonda N. McIntyre, Laura Anne Gilman, Sarah Smith, Sarah Zettel and Steven Harper. Since its launch, Book View Café has experienced a steady growth in readers and in author-members. The Cafe now receives over 700,000 hits every month. The author blog has also seen increasing popularity since its launch, drawing a further eight to nine thousand hits per month. Her lactavist writings are well known and widely circulated and she talks at conferences and events, on both breastfeeding and Film & Television. Severely dyslexic, none of this is easy. Why does she write? “I don’t have a choice. It just is. You may as well ask, why do I breathe?” Morgan's debut vampire novel, Changeling, is scheduled for ebook release on April 10th 2011.

I took great pleasure in writing Destiny's Warriors. Celt myth and the wonderment of Pagan gods sent me on a journey that took 17 years to write all ten novels in the series. The brutality of human sacrifice to appease the gods is a part of history that is horrific. And, the idea of Gods having to deal with the same emotional issues as mortal man was fascinating for me to create. This wonderful journey into mystical realms guided me to continue and finish the saga. I tell of enchanted warriors, mystical creatures and monsters such as Crimson Death and Banshees. The struggle to survive, heartache, betrayal and rivalry are what my characters have to face in this fantasy. You'll cry, cringe in fear and feel in awe at the romance as you read my tale. I hope you enjoy reading Destiny's Warriors. May a Rainbow be your guide down destiny's path. R. M. Putnam

When I was a kid, about 8 yrs. old or so, I would lend at least 25 books at the school library for my summer break. At first my teachers shook their heads in disbelief and they were probably thinking to themselves: he is never going to finish all of those books. But coming back after the summer break, I was always able to give them a detailed review of every single book. Some of those books were trilogies such as Isaac Asimovs "Foundation-" series and "Ringworld." I simply love books and though I like watching a movie just as much as everyone else, reading a book really is something else. By reading a book you construct pictures in your own mind instead of being served by a director. But what I love the most about books is the possibility of finding several layers in the book. Things that you cannot find in a movie can be put into a book, because words can be used in such a way that other kinds of meaning appear or disappear. I write about almost everything and anything, but always with my own speciality of "wry and dry" humor, that is, the kind of humor that attacks a subject head on, but still leaves the reader to think about it. I really hope you will enjoy my books... Wishing you a good reading experience, Per Holbo

Author bio:
I always loved writing stories. It was one of the few things that ever won me praise in school. I wasn't good at maths, or catching a ball, or remembering historical dates and figures, but I could spin a yarn. I announced at an early age that I planned to be a writer and keep my parents in style. Now, all these years later I am a writer, though the style I'm keeping my parents in is probably not all they might have hoped for. As a writer I'm a bit of a butterfly, flitting through age ranges and genre as the mood takes me. My children's fantasy adventure series, The Boldre Wood Trilogy, has now made its debut on Kindle in the form of Book One, Billy of Boldre Wood. Boldre Wood is home to a miniature race of people who live in the ancient trees, fighting for survival in a hostile world. Book Two will follow, hopefully, later this year. In meantime, I'm working on a collection of short stories for Kindle, 'The QT Anthology', as well as adding to the growing library of shorts on my website: http://www.quirkytales.co.uk

My new books, "Anthology of Evil" and "Death of Heaven", are out along with my short, "Simon’s Beautiful Thought"! I started writing when I was at the University but haven't really pursued it seriously until recently. My first published short horror story was back in 1992. More recently, I had two short stories published in two anthologies, both on Amazon (The Undead Nation Anthology and Rhonny Reaper's Creature Features Anthology) and Smashwords. But now I have my own works available. I have been concentrating on writing screenplays (HearthTales - Horror / comedy, and Dark of kNight - a paranormal romance) but enjoy writing short stories, mostly Horror or Science Fiction. I've been working on a memoir, but it's hard telling when I'll ever get that finished. Although I am getting closer. I have a B.A. in Psychology and for many years I was a Sr. Technical Writer. But there isn't much character or story development in that career and certainly no punch, at the end. I was a Sergeant in the US Air Force as a Survival Equipment Specialist and Parachute Rigger, among other work.
