I was born In Hull, Yorkshire, England in 1956. I started to write at the age of 44 in the year 2000 and I wasn't very good. I slowly learned over the years that followed, mainly from people online who gave up their time to help me. I chose to write imaginative things and sometimes allowed my own imagination to get away from me. I started with erotic tales before going onto more serious stuff, although having said that my erotic stories have been popular. The first book I published was "The Second Apprentice" followed closely by "The Talking Sword" both of which are sword and sorcerer type tales. My favorite release though was "Hell's Gate" and that one's doing very well now. Because my erotic stories are so popular, I will keep writing them. I'm well known for setting fair prices for my stories. One of them for instance is called "The Ultimate Collection of short erotic tales 1 & 2" and is priced at $4.99. If you were to buy each story separately, that book would cost you over $30. I now live in America and have done for the past 6 years. I'm very happily married and intend to stay that way. Carl
L'Gem by Sharon L Reddy L'Gem by Sharon L Reddy May 03, 2012 $4.99 304934 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
No biography. I'll write memoirs when I'm 103 and anyone I mention will be so happy to be alive to read them they won't sue. I write science fiction female fantasies for fast-reading smart women. What they wish fan fiction could be and know it can't. It's what I was asked to write at Mediawest in '92, when I won two Fan-Q's for my first two stories. Why me? They said "You can do it." What's that mean? It's not just storytelling talent. That's rather common. It was a real survival trait. Every good storyteller taught about the world and passed knowledge. That's what I do and like the talespinners of old, I do it in a fun way. Still not enough? My university transcript looks like I began with a map of the campus and checked off buildings I'd explored well. I admit I didn't spend a lot of time in biology and horticulture, but I did a thorough exploration of the other 'ologies, economics, engineering, philosophy, music, theater, computer science, communications and, of course, language and literature. It does show. The cultures I build and the relationships of the characters don't have any missing pieces. Some are very sexy. Some aren't. I write for an under-served market. Will others like my work? Yes, but they aren't really wishing for something that's not available. Or not this something. There really isn't anything else like my work out there. If there had been, I'd have found it. I want action-adventure that never slows down and engages me intellectually too. I want superheroes who are eloquent and brilliant. I want characters who sound like they've got an education and wisdom from 'immortals,' who aren't cases of arrested development that haven't learned anything since they were 20. I want books I have to read more than once to get everything in them out of them. I want societies that don't have any missing pieces. Traders who think about profit margin, and guard captains who think about needing to use the toilet and wish the dignitaries would, please, go into the meeting room. To get it, I had to write it. The style is for my target market too. It takes a couple chapters to get used to it, but once the women I write for do, they will read it faster. I'm a torchbearer, a member of the avant-garde, as we escape the economic confinement of physical mass distribution. You still hear people say, "If it was any good, it would be REALLY published." No, only books which the corporation decides will appeal to a vast audience get published and the people who make that decision haven't read them. A decision of that financial magnitude requires spreadsheets. They can't invest stockholder money in anything that isn't blockbuster-connected and probable sell-through, nothing truly new or different. It's our decision to create that which is the guide to all who follow. Ready for some real brain candy? Download a sample and see if it satisfies that wish for something you just couldn't define. Author bio:
Mark Hummerstone was born in East London, England in August 1958. He was raised in Essex until his parents decided to emigrate to Australia when he was aged 14. Whilst a child in England he developed a love if poetry thanks to a fabulous English teacher, indulged in his love of aircraft by joining the Air Training Corps and evolved his sense of humour from early Monty Python shows. In Australia in his late teens he finally fulfilled his desire to fly by gaining a private pilot’s license and learning to skydive. After leaving school Mark moved from Brisbane to Mt Isa to work in the mines before changing careers to become a firefighter. He also went on to become a skydiving instructor and after returning to Brisbane in the early 1990s eventually went on to gain a chief instructor rating in that sport. Since his teens he’s been an avid reader of all things ‘World War 1’ and could be considered an amateur historian on the subject. He has also maintained a keen interest in and knowledge of trains, planes, ships, firearms and computer technology. Historic references are as correct as possible within the context of telling a fictional story, there is great detail providing thorough explanation and clearly expressed time travel ‘rules’. Mark has a tremendous imagination and diligently set about learning the writing skills necessary to put the story to paper with the kind of result you’d expect from a natural talent, as stated by Manuscripts Online appraiser, “This author can write, of that there is no doubt.” Mark has had various articles published in independent news-sheets and his entertaining thesis on the ‘History of Parachuting’ was accepted unanimously by the Australian Parachute Federation.

That was their big mistake. But like a lot of dreams, it got sidetracked until recently, when I decided to focus my passion on an era and subject that interested me a great deal. Like my characters in Ancient Rome, I have served as the pointy tip of the spear of our nation's policy, and it is with this perspective that I tell the story of Titus Pullus and his friends. This is my first published novel, and is the first in a completed trilogy that covers the career of Titus Pullus.

The far fetched dreams of becoming an Author have consumed me. But it wasn't always like that. Sure, I used to draw out little mash-up stories that combined the universes of Star Wars and Star Trek when I was a kid, and I even kept a 'Notebook Wrestling Alliance' together well into my teenage years. But then life kicked in. I strayed from my writing, even straying into the world of Backyard Wrestling for a minute, and it wasn't until a hurricane took everything away that I found myself falling back to the almighty pen for support. The only things I took with me when evacuating for Hurricane Katrina were, besides about three days worth of clothes, all of my journals and my 'Notebook Wrestling Alliance'. Now, to be honest I never expected the water to reach my second floor, but it did. After that all I had left was a pile notebooks. And ever since then I've hardly ever put down my pen. I became enthralled with the storm that took it all, which eventually led me to learn about other hurricanes to ravage southeast Louisiana, and that ultimately brought me to write about them. I began small, throwing out a few names and writing out a few scenes, strictly for my own entertainment. At that time the world I lived in was littered with acrobatic cars, positioned in ways that I never believed possible, and houses in the street, literally, one street had like fifteen or so houses in the middle of the street, and another dozen or so had floated across a canal to collide with a pack of apartment complexes. It was crazy, seriously. The house I, sorry, WE just rebuilt, my childhood home, had a house with the concrete slab attached from six blocks away sitting in front of it. But I digress. You get the point. Inspired by disaster, The Hurricane Journals were born. I never expected to take it this far. But, hey, look at that, I did. So I'll go ahead and see where they take me. And maybe, only if I am deserving, of course, you could come along for the ride as well?
Yohaana's Song by St. Wishnevsky Yohaana's Song by St. Wishnevsky April 03, 2011 $4.99 287518 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Artistic Resume: Steve Wishnevsky 612 McCreary St. Winston-Salem, NC 27105, 336-661-9060 wishnevs@bellsouth.net Steve Wishnevsky was born in 1945 to a military family and has lived in Alabama, Connecticut, Northern California, Vermont, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He has been settled in Winston-Salem since 1984, and is well known as part of the literary and musical circles. He started in his chosen art form of Lutherie with informal studies under James A. Rickard, Chief Engineer, Ovation Guitars in Connecticut, in the late 1960’s and was creating informal and assembled instruments as long ago as 1960. He concurrently began to earn a living as a woodworker, making wooden toys and smoking accessories, under the name JWH Woodworks in Hartford, Connecticut, and Newark, Vermont. A fortuitous employment assisting the cabinetmaker at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, Connecticut exposed him to original masterworks of art and sculpture, and to the rudiments of conservation and display. An interest in American Appalachian Musics led to an invitation from David A. Sturgill, a North Carolina Folk Heritage Laureate, to study musical instrument making in Piney Creek, North Carolina in 1973. There he studied with such luthiers as banjo maker Kyle Creed, fiddle maker Albert Hash, and guitar maker and National Folk Heritage Award winner Wayne C. Henderson. A few years later, the Sturgill family bought and moved two established guitar manufactories, Harptone, of Newark, New Jersey, and Microfrets of Maryland, to Independence, Virginia, under the name of The New River Music Company. Mr. Wishnevsky was foreman and production manager for this facility. In 1978, Mr. Wishnevsky accepted a position with Ovation Instruments in New Hartford, Connecticut, where he was able to study under James Rickard again and to exchange ideas with other master luthiers such as Seth Hedu, of Watertown, Connecticut, and Richard Starky, now of Martin guitars. Two years later, Mr. Wishnevsky moved to Middle Tennessee, where he was able to open his own studio devoted to the design and construction of mandolins and to also further his interest in sculpture. He was able to win some awards in local art festivals and to study under local sculptors such as Tom Jackson, and to study the Gallagher Guitar factory, in Wartrace, Tennessee. After further studies and touring the Gurian Guitar shop in New Hampshire and the Taylor factory in El Cahon, California, Mr. Wishnevsky has established a studio in Winston-Salem, where he makes guitars and basses, while also employed as a Master Cabinetmaker. He is one of the very few craftsmen in America to ever complete a full sized Double Bass Viol. He is now working on his tenth instrument of this class, and is also in serial production of the epitome of guitars, the Archtop, or Cello, Jazz Acoustic Guitar. He is also continues to experiment with Unique, Folk, and Art instruments, and has formed alliances with local visual Artists Jon Blackburn, Laurie Russell, and Ted Lyons, among others, to create decorated instruments of a new category and style. He has works in the permanent collection of some local establishments and has had a few gallery sales, notably at Morning Dew Coffeehouse and at Urban Art Ware. He is a fixture at the Summer on Trade Series for the last several years and usually vends at nearby Festivals and Shows such as The Enofest, Merlefest, Apple Chill, LEAF, The Mount Airy Fiddle Festival, Many Hands, and others. He believes that Lutherie is the pinnacle of woodworking, invoking as it does of all the senses except taste, and having a cross-disciplinary impact on the arts of music, sculpture, and ergonomics. A musical instrument must have visual appeal, produce pleasing sounds, be comfortable to the hands and body, and most importantly, serve as an interface with the nervous system of the performer in such an instinctive, supportive way as to facilitate that performer’s creation of his own art, and communion with his audience. The challenge is to induce mute wood and metals to give voice, and he feels he is becoming at least facile at this task.

I took great pleasure in writing Destiny's Warriors. Celt myth and the wonderment of Pagan gods sent me on a journey that took 17 years to write all ten novels in the series. The brutality of human sacrifice to appease the gods is a part of history that is horrific. And, the idea of Gods having to deal with the same emotional issues as mortal man was fascinating for me to create. This wonderful journey into mystical realms guided me to continue and finish the saga. I tell of enchanted warriors, mystical creatures and monsters such as Crimson Death and Banshees. The struggle to survive, heartache, betrayal and rivalry are what my characters have to face in this fantasy. You'll cry, cringe in fear and feel in awe at the romance as you read my tale. I hope you enjoy reading Destiny's Warriors. May a Rainbow be your guide down destiny's path. R. M. Putnam

My Book The Hustler and The Angel Hello this is exciting to publish this book that I hope many will enjoy. This book as much fun as it was hard for it deals with many things I still have no grasp of. I do know from experience of having family members who have dealt with cancer and not one of them won their battle. As painful as it is to lose a loved one it made me question is there something more to life than this? In the beginning of writing this book felt in ways of being poked in the back by God. Now that time has gone by not sure. Many say that this kind of book would not warrant Gods hand in it because of the language, pot smoking and much more. It still has the same arguments by me and many of people who I have spoken with in how we question religion and how God works in ones life. So you can see that this book has no way the answers to it just questions while at the same time it has a great romance and how we need to cherish our friends for they are what gets us through this hectic life that at times can really drag you down, cancer or no cancer. Some of the crazy conversations that took places between the girls are very close to the ones I heard all around me. When one finds the close knit bond of friendship in life it can make one’s live bearable as these women provided for each other. They’re style make not be gentle or even socially acceptable but they allowed each one to let their hair down as they held each other with warm arms of comfort. I learned this lesson when my sister who was only twenty seven when she passed away from cancer leaving a three years old little girl behind. My mother thought her friends were the type that she should not hang out with. Then she learned these people who did not deserve to be in my sister life were the ones right there at her side everyday giving more of themselves than anyone would expect and better than the people who my mother held more respect before. Like the expression can’t judge a book by its cover. Whether this is helped by God or not it was written from the heart.

I’ve always hated the act of sitting down to write out an author bio. I can never figure out what to say that will sound somewhat interesting. I read other bios by authors that detail their entire living history across the eastern half of the United States, all of the different schools they attended and degrees they accumulated, and the names and habits of every crazy pet they own. What does that leave me to work with? Well, I’ll start by stating the fact that I’m a writer. Self-published author, more like it. I don’t have any fancy degrees in regards to my writing craft, but I’ve been writing since I was eleven years old. In the last handful of years, I’ve written and self-published four novels, some short stories, and a novella. The majority of what I write falls into a strange gray area between science fiction/fantasy and Christian fiction. It’s a gray area because my stories contain violence, sexual themes and other ‘edgy’ content but themes of redemption and faith run throughout. I also love to read. I remember reading Mark Twain’s work when I was younger and fell in love with Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. I remember reading terrific and sometimes horrifying short stories in school like Edgar Allen Poe's, The Cask of Amontillado and The Pit and the Pendulum, along with James Thurber’s, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. My senior year of high school I read through the Han Solo trilogy and fell in love with science fiction/fantasy and the Star Wars universe in its entirety. Between then and now I haven’t really read much, but I’m getting back into it. Currently I’m reading the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks. Beyond reading, I am also an avid video gamer - have been since I was old enough to hold a game controller. I’m a huge fan of FPS (First Person Shooters) and RPG (Role Playing Games). On a daily basis you can find me online playing a game of Half Life 2: Deathmatch with my clan, {(.:A.o.S:.)}. Anything else you want to know? Drop me a line. dna@davidnalderman.com. And if you have a moment, please check out my website - www.davidnalderman.com - where you can read more about my edgy Christian speculative fiction. Or, if you’re a fellow writer/Christian and would like to follow my journey as a self-published author, check out my blog - www.davidnalderman.blogspot.com.

Brendan Carroll was born and raised in Southeast Texas and now lives in the East Texas Lake Country. Throughout his scholastic career, he wanted nothing more than to tell a good story, get a few laughs or give a few frights. After high school, he joined the US Navy and spent the next four years serving the country in the fighter training squadron VT-86 out of Pensacola, Florida. In college, he majored in Environmental Science and Geography with a minor in Geology and ended up with a teaching certificate for Secondary Earth Sciences. After one year of teaching fourteen and fifteen-year-olds, his desire to inspire young minds was laid to rest and he took up a position serving the State of Texas in the Correctional Field. In his spare time, he has produced over thirty novels which are currently being published in Kindle format as well as paperback at a much slower pace. His one aim is to entertain the reader with a good tale and hope that they may get something more from his work than just a laugh, a fright or a sigh.

Bruce H. Johnson, writing as BJohn, is 63 years old and was born in Arizona. He went to school in Akron, Ohio and has a BBA from Kent State University (yes, of the National Guard “fame.”). He missed the entire thing by about ten minutes). He spent eight years in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Power Engineering Laboratory Technician both on a ship and as an instructor in Idaho. Once leaving the Navy in 1978, he moved to Los Angeles and spent the next ten years as a computer programmer. Much of his duty involved documenting the various programs, languages and systems he worked on. In 1988, he joined a consulting group specializing in large computer system documentation where he has been ever since. The group has evolved from straight “technical documentation” to business process analysis and providing solutions to problems. All his writing is in his spare time. “Sorcerer: The Inner Circle” is his first fiction work except for a very short story in the fifth grade.

I was born in Manchester in the North West of England in 1957. Although I have moved around a bit, Manchester is still both my physical and spiritual home. I am a Northerner. I am also married to Rosanna, and have been now for over twenty years. I have an imagination that began when I was very young and never waned. I also like reading and so it was no surprise I suppose when I started writing. Because I am an unknown who has never been picked up by either an Agent or mainstream Publisher, I am a bit of a one man band. I even do my own covers and have become a bit of a digital artist as a result. I started writing when I was young and very bad. Now I am older and a lot better. My writing has improved too. I write science fiction, fantasy and romance stories. I also like to mix and match with romance in science fiction and so on. Female characters feature very prominently in my stories, many of them in strong and attractive leading roles. The reason for this is that I like women, a lot. In fact I adore everything about them, so it is no surprise that I enjoy reading stories where women feature prominently and that I should also enjoy writing stories where women feature prominently. It gives my stories a female bias, but I think they are better for it. I also like every character, even the monsters and villains, to have a realistic reason for being and doing what they do. Like reality, everything blurs. There is no right or wrong, just different viewpoints that lead to conflict. But I also like my out and out villains to be really bad. If you like science fiction, thrillers and romance stories with particular emphasis on leading female characters that are exciting and adventurous, look no further. Carl
