Author bio:
I was born, in Louisville, Kentucky, and currently live in Bowling Green. I was married in 2007 for the first time at the tender age of 50. I took creative writing in high school, and found I enjoyed it. Some authors have a favorite author whose work inspired them. My inspiration was Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan; however it was his Martian series that I am most fond of. As I was rewriting my first novel, High Seas, to its current form, I’m surprised I was able to finished it. My husband kept continually asking me, “Are you done yet?” I retired from twenty-years of teaching Taekwon-do, in which I hold a fourth degree black belt. I dabbled in fencing for a short while. Currently, I attend Mid-Continent University and am working on my Bachelors Degree.

Joining the Dots: Readings for Holy Week and Easter by Martha Newall Joining the Dots: Readings for Holy Week and Easter by Martha Newall Feb. 26, 2010 $3.50 3021 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
These Gospel stories started as a join-the-dots exercise, before I road-tested them in my local church and at youth camps. Friends have used them in their own churches and home groups as aids to reflection and to re-awaken familiar Bible passages. I have had interest from Christian publishers but have come to the conclusion that I would rather self-publish online for now. I am very keen on the written word in book-form, bur know that if I want to find something in a hurry, I look on the internet. So hopefully you will find it quick and easy to use my stories. I would love you to use my stories or sketches for your home group, church, youth camp, conference or fund-raiser. They are written to be read aloud but are intended to be flexible. Please feel free to sit in front of your print-out with a sharp pencil and a touch of imagination. So far, I have collections for both Advent and Easter Week. No piece is longer than a page and can be used in isolation or together. If using together it usually works to have a variety of voices. I also have several more isolated stories based on various incidents in the Old and New Testaments. Commissions are very welcome – anything I am commissioned to write will then become available online.

I was born and grew up in France, where I developed a love for language, literature, and good food. In my early thirties I moved to Australia where I am based now. I am an agricultural economist and a linguist by education, and a management consultant by trade. However, my passion for writing and literature led me to more creative endeavours... I started by writing short plays. Having studied acting in Sydney and in Paris, it just seemed a natural extension of performing on stage. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue. The rest is history, as we say... I write in both English and French. One of my plays, My Sister's Choice, also makes extensive use of sign language. I have published one novel, The Wings of Leo Spencer, and two plays, The Birthday Knife and Guys, Only Guys! I have written two full-length plays and a large number of short plays, which have been produced in America, Australia, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia. Some of them have won prizes. I have also written and published (mostly online) a large number of articles related to the issue of rare diseases, research and patients, translated in many languages throughout Europe. My writing credits also include an award-winning short story and a radio play. I’m currently working on a full-length play involving spoken English and sign language, and shorter plays. I’m also putting the final touch to two novels, one for young adult (in English), titled Body Swap and another one in French, Metaphore du Rapide. Here's a list of my plays: Full-Length Plays My Sister’s Choice Two sisters. Both Deaf. One who signs and one who doesn’t. It’s all very well, until one of them introduces her boyfriend to the other… A two-act play written for Deaf and hearing audiences, with a mixture of spoken and signed languages Eighty-three What would you do if your eighty-three year old father told you he was dating someone, shortly after your mother’s passing? And what if he had been doing so for many years? Short Plays Love and Light Tania’s deceased husband has left her with bills to pay, no job and no idea where he stashed the money. Will consulting a Psychic provide her with the answer she seeks? The Birthday Knife Never give someone a knife for their birthday… you may end up regretting it. Guys, Only Guys! David is about to reincarnate as a gay man… and he is ecstatic. But should he, really? What if it’s Bad News? An unopened letter, and the sad news it may contain… Smell the Roses Porn and mothers-in-law don’t go well together… The Chopper A play about passion, fate, and life choices The Gene of Truth A defective gene… and what ensues For the Love of Men Gabriel is at it again…. trying to dissuade unsuspecting candidates from becoming gay. But in whose interest, really? The Review We’ve all had performance reviews at work… and we all know they can be daunting. Craig had prepared well for his review, but nothing could prepare him for what he was about to experience… In the Middle of the Night Brad wakes up in the middle of the night. It’s pitch black and he can’t see a thing. But he can feel something is definitely not right… It starts with a ‘D’ A day in the life of two very special girls Bye Mum! Bye Dad! Bye Dad! A last farewell to Grandad and Grandma, or so it seems…

I wrote my first story when I was in the fourth grade—it involved talking animals, a dark forest, and of course, romance. A hundred and fifty handwritten pages later, I knew I was in love with telling stories. When I’m not chasing after my three kids, walking my dog, or being condescended to by our cat (who believes he is feline royalty), I am chasing after my muses. They always involve strong men and women finding love and passion against the odds. Whether they are ruthless warriors or noble vampires, runaway princesses or powerful witches—I hope my characters resonate with my readers and bring them a well-deserved escape. One thing you can count on, I will always provide a happy ending.

Author bio:
After writing a poetry collection and seeing them accepted in several anthologies in the U.S. and abroad, I continued writing a compilation for my own publishable work. Seven months later in 2002, I’d written a collection of 70 poems. In 2003, published the collection in the book titled, “This is Life” (Embracing the Seasons through Poetry and Songs); named after the title poem, “This is Life”. I write prolifically, my first love was poetry that I started writing in 2001. Since then I’ve written several children’s books, one that gained popularity with a small press, titled, “You Make Me Want to Sing” (Music Stories), and is still active and selling at Amazon.com. “The Skein and the Pair, was my first novella published. It is about the trials of a flock of geese, it is general literary fiction for all ages. It was published recently, in July 2010, is still active at major on-line bookstores, and is shelved where I’ve had book signings. My most current work is the story titled, “Beneath the Cherry Blossoms”. This is my second novella and although it is a work of fiction it is based on a true story. The loss of every loved one is unspeakably hard. The story occupied my mind for over one and a half years until I finally gave in to those compelling thoughts that would come and go, but never leave for too long, and wrote the story.
