Open my heart that I may see
The chalice of love
And drink deep
May I hold the seas in the palms of my hands
And offer them up to you
While rivers of stars melt in my cup
May I lift them up and offer the winds
May the secrets of life
Be given to me
That I may exalt the beauty I see

I come back to you
Time after time?
Why is it
I return to you
Evening after evening?
Because I love you
Why is it
You are so beautiful?
Why is it
You shine
In my heart so?
You make my heart shine so?
Why is it
I melt
In your presence?
Why is it
I melt into you?
Why is it
Love pours
Like rivers of light
Through my heart?
Why are you everything?
How is it you were made?
Where do you come from?
What is the secret
Of your secret?
Do you wait for me
Time after time?

I come back
To you
Time after time?
Change
You were like the sun and the moon
A shining in my heart
To me was given the heart of the sky
The starry night’s wisdom
Change is a long, long task
A dying, a dreaming

There but the seasons to comfort me

Long and long I spoke with my soul
Of death
Of love
Of things that matter
I’m clothed in light
Loved and touched by light
