Author Bio

Vessel

How can You love me
After all that I’ve done?
How can You use me
When I am exhausted?
Why would You want me
When I’m weak and broken?
How could You forgive?
What kind of love permits
A thorough cleansing
Of my hard heart and mind?
I struggle through doubt
And I reach out in faith.
God if You are real:
Reveal Yourself to me,
Purge my hardened heart,
Renew my filthy mind,
Show me how to love,
And make me transparent
So Your love shines through
This small vessel of Yours.

The Abyss

Pull me from within
The big black abyss
That I have fallen
Into its vastness

I have fallen from Your grace
And I cannot see Your face
Bring me back to Your presence
Then restore my faithfulness

Bring me back to You
I cannot survive
Away from You

Let me not succumb
To the voice of death
I hear beckon

Darkness covers me
Like a wool blanket
And I cannot see
From underneath it

I have fallen from Your grace
And I cannot see Your face
Bring me back to Your presence
Then restore my faithfulness

Bring me back to You
I cannot survive
Away from You

Let me not succumb
To the voice of death
I hear beckon

You will never escape my grasp
Stronger than the bite of an asp
As the darkness tackles you
You begin to see through
The ignorance that surrounds you
Like the juice in a stew

I call out in vain
You cannot hear me
As I scream in pain
And fall to my knees

I had fallen from Your grace
And I will not see Your face
Now give me my consequence
That’s in store for my faithlessness

Take me back to death
I cannot survive
Away from You

You let me succumb
To the voice of death
I heard beckon

Quicker than lightning
You lit up my world
While I was whining
Your grand plan unfurled

Brought back to You
I will survive
Next to You

I did not succumb
To the voice of death
I heard beckon

Who Can

You search for a savior
Someone to rescue you
You need a great healer
Someone to mend your wound
You long for forgiveness
Someone to pardon you
You need a friendly hand
To wipe away your tears
You’re seeking a soul mate
A sympathetic ear
To comfort you

I know who can save
I know who can heal you
I know who will forgive
And who will comfort you

He will give you peace
He will give you joy
He will give you life
He will shower you
With mercy and grace

Who can save you
The Messiah
Who can heal you
The lamb of God
Who can wash away your sin
Who can make you whole again
Jesus the Christ
The Son of God
