Dare

I step into dream space,
a place where
worlds swirl
like boiling oceans,
drowning clouds;
where ghosts sing
and dance boneless,
unaware that their
souls are bare
in barren light.
I slide into
the pulsing heartbeat
of God’s own spirit
astonished at the storm
unafraid of the tornado
that stirs my sight
and rends
my thought of who
I should be
from my eyes
showing me only
who I might be
in a sigh,
in a laugh,
if I only
dare to play.
Dare to stay.

My Real Name

My real name is an inaudible secret.
Yesterday, my name was gradual unraveling,
But today my name is outlandish declaration.
Tomorrow, on the verge of summer,
My name will be steam cat.
Secretly, I know my name is exotic porcelain,
Easily shattered and precious.
My name once was frosted eyelids.
In my dream, my name was
Purple eternity,
A private whisper from God.
