Life

In the beginning, I am void and without form. Emptiness is me. Yet, life surrounds me. Its electricity sings a song that cannot be silenced. Crying within, I yearn to taste it. I yearn to sing it. I can sense a great beginning is coming, a place where the fabric of time and space will be ripped asunder. Where the unknown will become known. The essence of life will be lit with a fire that explodes into a brand new horizon. This ultimate sensation calls out my name, it beckons me. “Come… reach out and embrace me. Taste of my nectar, it taunts.” Yet, I remain void. I am unable to reach. I am unable to feel this electricity of life. Oblivion fills my soul.

A sharp pain rips my side and the burning sears within me. I convulse and jerk from this new sensation. I am filled with life. It creeps across my form. Its essence nurtures my soul. I sing out in ecstasy as this strange new joy pours into me. My pain becomes pleasure as I welcome the intruder within. We are one in sensation, one in joy. Rapture is us.

Months become hours, hours become minutes and minutes become seconds, as fullness is felt. Bigger each day, bigger each second. I am filled. I am overflowing. Give me this gift, this sensation. Fill me and drown me in ecstasy! Yet, I know without knowing that there is much more to come.

With a jolt, I begin to travel across time. I ask myself. “What is reality? What is not?” I am confused and scared. I reach back grabbing for what I had, that which was safe. Unsure of what is yet to come and knowing it is more than I have. Dare I ask for so much? “YES!” I cry out, “YES, I want it all!”

My chest burns as I inhale deep. My body tingles. I am overflowed with new sensations. How could so much feeling possible? Is this real, or have I transgressed reality? I open my eyes and see the world as a blur. But I feel, oh… I feel such existence that it overwhelms me. And I cry.

Turning from my mother’s breast, I look upon the window seal of Heaven. God smiles down upon me and I thank him for my new gift of LIFE!
