Children of the New Millennium have grown up in a much more materialistic world than the children of my youth. Throughout the past 60 years, the religious significance and message of Easter has tended to play a secondary role to that of the more consciously driven consumer society of today. In the mind of today’s children, their Easter eggs are more usually to be found in an oval coating of chocolate with sweets inside. If only today’s children could experience the immense fun to be found in ‘creating your own special eggs’ and ‘hunting the bunny’ after one had returned from the church service of Easter Sunday. Annie knows of the fun to be had in the established rituals of days past. Do you?

‘Annie's Easter Bunny’
One Saturday night in April, Annie went to bed excited. As she climbed the stairs, she yelled gleefully, "Yippee! Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. Yippee!"
There were three days in the year that Annie liked best of all. These were her birthday, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Each of these three days was very special to Annie in their own way and all of them brought Annie special presents, food and games to play.
On her birthday, Annie had presents and cards from family and friends. There would be a birthday party to help everyone celebrate and a special cake, jelly, ice cream, and cherry buns to eat. Afterwards her special birthday song would be sung and there would be games to play.
