This story came at a somewhat dreary time in my life, a feeling that I was determined to overcome. The local newspaper had recently been publishing short stories that started out dismally and ended on a bright note. Life isn't always like that.
Rainy Forecast
A young woman, still groggy from last night's sleep, held her pink toothbrush in her right hand and brushed her teeth. She was thinking back on the evening's romance when she realized it was just a dream. She had spent the past night watching television like so many nights lately. Perhaps she would go out tonight with her friends to see a movie, she thought, while rinsing her face of last night's cold cream. It was something she thought of every morning.
