Dave’s life had changed quite a bit since his first encounter with Vance. Before they met, he had been a busy investment banker in Dallas, but had gotten tired of the rush and stress. He moved back to his hometown in rural Texas to try something new, and had done just that. After relocating, he needed some work, so he signed on with Vance, who had himself only recently moved to town and bought some land. The first order of business was the erection of a barn on Vance’s land, although after only a half-day of work events turned to another sort of erection.
Vance showed Dave a new sort of love that he had never encountered before on that first day, and since then, progress had been slow. The two strapping cowboys-to-be were never able to keep their hands off each other for very long. The long sessions of love-making had been supplemented with quick, urgent fuck sessions and hungry blowjobs between short bursts of actual labor. Although Vance had introduced the idea that they may need some additional help to get the project finished, he had not followed through on it until two full weeks later.
“We really, really need to get this barn put together.” Vance said, a little flustered early Monday morning on the way down the path to the barn site. “I’m not complaining – don’t get me wrong, I love what we have going on here. I have to get a place to put the cows that I have ordered though.”
“Makes sense,” Dave answered. “Well, remember a couple of weeks ago when you suggested hiring someone else on? That might light a fire under our asses. Or rather, might cool the fire under our asses for long enough to get the work done.” He said with a grin.
Vance’s expression was of obvious relief. In truth, he was worried that actually hiring someone else on would make Dave jealous and sabotage their budding relationship. He was glad that Dave wasn’t that sort, though. “There’s really only one problem with this plan,” he began. “This isn’t exactly a huge town. Where can we find someone strong enough and young enough to help us with this? I love the old-timers, but they couldn’t raise a barn if their life depended on it.”
Dave thought for a second, and then remembered that when he was driving into town, he saw a notice for a small ranch for sale about four miles from Vance’s land. “We could head up the road and see if anyone is around cleaning up that ranch that’s going up for sale. Maybe we could hire someone on there.”
Vance had no better ideas, so the two headed immediately for the other ranch. As they wove down the dusty road, Dave snuck a hand into Vance’s pocket and gave his cock a squeeze and kissed him behind the ear. “Ah...” Vance moaned under his breath. “I’m not going to act like I don’t want to throw you across the hood of the truck. We have to get this barn taken care of though. We get this thing up and I promise I’ll show you something else you’ve never seen before.”
Dave had to admit, the thought was enough to quicken his pulse. “Oh, fine. I’m going to hold you to that though.” He said. “I hope you do,” Vance replied with a smirk.
At the mostly-abandoned ranch, Dave and Vance found a few people milling around. Going from one person to the next, Vance met and greeted everyone, but returned to Dave shortly, defeated. “Nothing doing,” he said. “But that last guy I talked to said the newest hand they hired was still looking for work. We might be able to find him before he takes off for the day. Said he usually hangs out at the stables in the mornings.”
