Chapter 1

Star was in the library. She was waiting patiently for her friends. She’d organised a meeting so they could practice their special skills.

Star and her friends were special. They were chosen to protect Earth from a source of evil planing to take over the world. They’d only just found out, and they needed to train whilst everything was still in shape.

Moony bounded into the room, along with Sunny, Jazz and Lottie. Only one person was missing.

Star decided to worry about that later. As she looked at her friends, she realised what great people they were. Moony was sporting a black T-shirt with a moon stitched into the middle, and some black denim jeans to match. Her hair was wound into a curly, brown ponytail with a bright blue ribbon. Moony was definitely an out-there, don’t mess with me girl.

On the other hand, Jazz was the opposite. She was wearing a bright pink dress with a black belt and big, pink boots with black laces. Her hair was black with pink bobble clips to hold back her lopsided fringe. Jazz was shy and sweet, but always ready with a smile.

Star turned her attention to Sunny. Sunny was wearing a bright yellow skirt and a gold-sequined top. Her shoes were decorated with swirls and sparkles, to suit her personality. Her hair was blonde and wavy, drooping over her shoulders. Sunny was always ready for fun, but was serious when needed.

Lottie. Watching her glide across the carpet was quite a sight. She was wearing a pastel-green mini-dress and black leggings with lucky clovers on the ends. Her hair was pulled back into a little bun with green clips to accessorise.

Finally, Star looked down on herself. She wore a black top with a rainbow star sparkling in the middle. She wore a black mini-skirt with rainbow lines on the edges of the ruffles. Her hair was violet and shimmering around her shoulders, giving her some style and flair.

Focus!” Star thought, shaking away these distractions.

Star, where’s Jamie?” Jazz’s inquisitive voice broke through Star’s thought barrier, bringing her back to earth.

Star didn’t really know.

Jamie had been an enemy, who had been causing nightmares for Star that were very close to being reality. Together, they’d destroyed Jamie’s power over Star. But it had turned out that Jamie wasn’t hurting them for his own reasons. He had been enchanted by an evil sorcerer called Chris, who worked at this school as a student in disguise. Chris was also Star’s brother, which made things complicated.

“I did ask him to come, but he may be a tad late.” Star answered, wondering what was holding up Jamie.

“Eeep!” Sunny cried out suddenly, bouncing backwards.
