“Good Evening everybody. I take immense pleasure in welcoming our principal, our teachers and you my dear friends for this fabulous farewell party in this beautiful evening,” Sharisha, the representative of the students, was addressing the gathering. She requested everyone to give their attention for the prayer song. All stood up and closed their eyes.
“This is our last function in the auditorium of our college. We will not get another chance to stand here together and sing our prayer song”, Sharmi and Shahin held their hands tightly and said to each other, with tears in their eyes.
Sharmi and Shahin are the students of commerce department. Two outstanding students among sixty three. They both are close friends, not from childhood days; they became friends only on the second year of their college. Why not first year?
That is because of their Economics professor. He is a sort of person who used to be punctual in all his works. He never let anyone sleep during his class hours. He used to give puzzles every day. And discuss the economic condition of the nation especially with those whom he felt were sleeping during the class hours.
One day he felt that there existed ‘groupism’ among them. He came to know that the students did not even know the names of each other correctly. Then he discussed with the class in charge and made an arrangement which initially was not acceptable to the students.
