The autumn air was crisp as Asa strode swiftly through the alley. His footsteps were soft, almost silent as he hurried to his destination- a small club on the other side of town. He had chosen this location for several reasons. Seclusion. Atmosphere. But most importantly, its patrons. This bar in particular was a gay bar, frequented by all of the most fit, attractive young men in town. Just what the vampire needed to satiate his appetite. Asa paused for a moment, stomach growling as he sniffed the air. The scent of humans, of blood, filled his nostrils. He was getting closer. Quickening his pace, he made his way towards the source of the smell, his lithe form nothing more than a shadow in the night.
The pulsing sound of the nightclub reached Asa’s ears before he even saw the flashing neon lights decorating the building. It was a small bar, in a rather secluded location, but quite popular nonetheless. He paused, taking a moment to quell his hunger before entering the club, the doorman barely glancing at him as he pushed his way into the crowded building.
The smell of blood was almost overwhelming as Asa pushed his way through the throng of dancing bodies as he made his way to the bar. Sitting down, he surveyed the crowd. The patrons that night were mostly guys, as usual. As a human Asa had considered himself bisexual, actually preferring girls for the most part. Since becoming a vampire however, he now fed both sexually and otherwise on males. There was something about men, something about their hard bodies and hot blood that made Asa’s mouth water in ways a woman couldn’t. He watched as young men danced together to the pulsing beat of the techno blaring through the club’s speakers, lurid lights flashing overhead in time with the beat. A handsome young DJ stood on a small stage off to the side, blonde head nodding as his fingers flew over the turntables and mixer before him, a sheen of sweat showing off his muscled, shirtless chest. One couple in the center of the dance floor seemed to be particularly into the music, grinding their hips together as their hands explored each other’s bare chests. Asa felt himself become aroused, and his hunger intensified.
“Hello.” Asa’s train of thought was broken as a young man sitting to his left spoke. Asa tore his eyes from the gyrating couple to look at the boy.
“Can I buy you a drink?” the young man asked, dark eyes raking over Asa’s body. Asa flashed a charming smile at the boy. With his dark features, well-defined muscles and rugged jawline he was exactly Asa’s type. Asa could almost hear the young man’s blood pulsing through his veins, and his mouth watered at the thought of tasting him.
“That would be lovely,” Asa lilted, reaching a hand out to delicately touch the boy’s arm. Asa knew his touch had a certain calming, almost intoxicating effect on humans. He wasn’t really sure how it worked, and he had since learned that not all vampires’ touches had the same effect, but he was grateful for his gift. The effects of Asa’s gentle caress seemed to take hold immediately as the young man’s eyes glazed over.
