Woefully Inadequate

After the holy battled moved,

the Angels staggered onward,

climbing mountains that had looked immense

only a few days ago,

stars darkened and streams of blood would flow.

No matter how mighty the fight,

and how dark the night,

God knew that the human army couldn’t protect his Kingdom alone,

battles fought, with honor and with grace,

death and hunger these humans would face,

God sent more angels when he heard frightened voices,

putting their lives down,

blood everywhere, blanketing the ground.

They needed God’s help in any shape,

because they looked woefully inadequate to continue the fight,

the humans seemed relieved to have been joined by more Angels,

offering light to the night,

and feeling the warmth from God’s love

as the white wings filled the skies above.

Backing Into God’s Light

The lonely Angel fought the pangs of hunger,

he has wasted years of blood and sweat in the dark battle,

but he didn’t mind it at all,

God gave him a signal, and he had answered the call.

he would fight for God until the very end,

he was dedicated and full of faith,

although he was injured in the battle,

he did not let on,

God could tell from watching his agonizing gait,

but the Angel knew it would be far more painful to lose,

his injuries would heal after a few hours of sleep,

he just knew that he couldn’t give up protecting God’s sheep,

so fighting would only free the bright light,

it gave him the strength that filled his might,

and he would not surrender, and he didn’t give up,

because when the dark fills his night,

death would have him backing into God’s light.

Proof Of God

Suddenly angry,

his voice sounding tight,

yellow flashes scarred the night,

his aggravation was coming through,

and no one else knew what to do.

Then there came a new attack,

torpedoes, bombs, gun-fire, and littered bodies

put soldiers on their backs.

The General looked toward the crowded skies,

and the proof of God was in his eyes,

no longer angry, and there was no sign of weakness,

he heard God’s call,

his weapons dropped, he was not competitive,

and his enemies soon would fall.

In that moment, God reached out,

his men confused, but did not shout,

they laid their weapons by their feet,

no fighting, yet there was a defeat,

and without a sound they took God’s hand,

calm, collective, and God’s whisper became a command.

Physical Fear

Hope was detected in her heart,

accepting the heat and defeat,

crossing her fingers,

and rising to her feet,

she closed her eyes tight,

silence filled the air,

no noise, and no fright,

warm tears

had disappeared,

it was a peaceful calm that filled her head,

no more killing, and no more dead,

but then she opened her eyes,

peace lasted for just that brief time,

as she gazed around,

bodies all over the ground,

a weary, and tired woman

slumped against a dirty building,

fell back to her knees,

her expression became grim,

smoke was heavy, still she took a breath,

lack of oxygen, and her skin searing

silence was still there,

but it was because she lost her hearing,

and rushing back was the horrible emotions and the physical fear.

About Desire.

His desire,

her desire,

no desire,

to desire,

he sung

she sung,

they sung,

one voice,

her body bending,

his body bending,

twisting together,

one body,

one act.

Birth-Cry

Birth-Cry

Pregnant,

as she burned from the crash,

in labor,

on the way down,

heart pounding,

water broke,

heard the birth cry,

lungs soaked.

A Blueprint

Small frame

soft name,

tiny breasts,

dark skin.

Long hair,

flows back,

touching the flesh,

gently on her

lower back.

Dark eyes,

prefect smile,

woven into a

pretty face.

A blueprint of beauty,

right before our eyes,

catch it quickly,

before it dies.

Seemingly through Space

The Vampire stood at a viewpoint

gazing at the stars.

They were utterly still--cold,

harsh light without Earth's atmosphere

to make it twinkle.

Nuclear explosion nearly destroyed the Earth

several years ago,

and now the images are left unperturbed

No where to feed,

no one to bleed,

Now traveling seemingly through space,

looking, haunting,

remembering he doesn't die,

no cure,

no pure,

only to endure,

The Vampire's cry.

Day's Work

The creature banked furiously,

slamming his opponent forward,

gushing blood,

ripping flesh,

and all in a day's work.

The fight had no particular grace,

only fury,

only anger,

and the night sky- a witness,

and all in a day's work.

His opponent hit him twice,

shattering bones,

and crushing muscle,

but he had to stay strong,

losing,

could make everything go wrong.

Total Absolution To Darkness

Images floated in front of him,

after years of casting out demons,

he gave total absolution to darkness,

without realizing it.

The devil walked into the confessional,

searching for forgiveness,

with the eyes of a child,

and the soul of an Angel,

he was granted his wish.

Total absolution to darkness made him weak,

he couldn't care for his flock,

anguish is what he seeks,

in the floating darkness,

he released the knife,

sinking, and falling from grace,

damned for taken his own life.

Someone should have given him absolution....

Murder

The killing persisted,

bloody stains on the sheets,

just so many ways too die,

it can open up anyone’s eye,

car-crashes, suicides,

homicides, matricides,

genocides,

all torments,

all evil,

all murder,

one way or another,

and anyway you look,

there’s just no closing the book,

and by whose words?

Bible, Man, God?

Suicide

His mind tangled in infinite directions,

the moment he felt time slip past,

it was all revealed to him,

he understood the patterns,

as he collapsed toward the ground,

although his heart didn't quite make the jump.

Life lost meaning at the time,

unconcerned,

and lonely,

unhampered,

because during his fall,

his life was being redefined,

frantic and out of his mind,

he tried to alter his steps,

but he was dimly too late.

Suicide....

can't turn back now.

Something Happened

We walked into a Library,

books

are all off the shelves,

and magazines

by our feet,

something happened,

in the section of defeat.

Reality

He was crouched on the street,

holding his bloody friend,

speaking softly,

after the gunfire.

Cradling life like a child,

it ends so foolishly,

but it's so precious,

to some.

The boom of another shot

rang in his ears,

felt a thump against his chest,

another one down,

it was him,

frightened,

then he fell limp,

grasping for reality.

Reality?

The Fresh Kill

The blood splashed against the vampire's face,

blinding him only seconds before his teeth

could enter the wound,

drinking,

feeling the joy of a kill running through his veins,

the harsh,

stinging teeth,

caught his victim by surprise.

Its flowing,

salty flavor,

filling his mouth and nostrils,

like luke-warm gargling water used to clear

the throat.

Damn!

He cursed silently,

as the drink is no more,

one victim down,

and there should be more to score.

His Bride

Soft skin beneath his hands,

and warmth filling his mind.

The sight of her made him tremble,

her body tormented

in ways he couldn't describe.

He reached for his bride,

and wondered what had happened,

her wedding gown moist,

perhaps even damp,

as he continued ripping it,

his hands catching her back,

and he was touching her flesh.

A muffled cry,

a tear in his eye,

and the realization that he wasn't dreaming,

he shook so violently,

and she looked at the sky and howled.

Jenny, The Angel

She brushed up against him,

and the faint smell of her

perfume made his nose twitch.

It was a rare

and exotic fragrance,

with plenty of tenderness,

and plenty of care.

He thought more clearly,

when she faded away,

his hands reaching,

but touching nothing.

She collected her thoughts,

and his soul,

gently as

he accepted death finally,

so rest in peace.

Voices

The voices had nearly died down,

the wounds nearly healed,

the planet was crammed to capacity.

Lines of somber faces gazed up

at a God created by man,

to bail us out,

to save our sinking ship,

as through their eyes the stars

gently blurred.

The voices of past lives

warned us,

showed us,

but we did not listen.

The Voices of the past dead whispered in our ears,

gently,

with meaning,

without fear.

The ghost of time has never captured our attention,

it leads the way,

and we follow,

no one will stay, no matter how hard we pray.

The voices of the living go unheard.

Hungry Children

Hungry children,

cry quietly,

for food,

for love,

for God’s breath of silence.

Hungry children,

the calls

the falls,

the hidden laughter,

the hidden silence,

hear the whispers,

the deaths,

all hungry children,

closed your eyes,

hear the cries,

all hungry children...

She Was In The Darkness

The Vampire stood sheepishly amid

the darkness of her room,

he then glided briskly,

and then froze in his tracks.

The woman stared at her feet,

unable to meet his eyes,

deadly darkness,

cold and lifeless.

Awkward and a bit embarrassing,

the Vampire leaned forward,

kissed the woman on the cheek,

and fled without a good-bye.

The Vampire that fears the woman,

no way to confirm it,

she was in the darkness

and the Vampire was gone.

The Ghost Is Dead

The ghost is dead,

no bloodshed,

no fan-fare,

no worries,

no care.

The ghost expired,

the humans won,

They challenged the unknown,

and they covered the sun,

here was no losing,

and certainly no fun.

Hunger Calls

The un-dead

looked at the young woman

with his bloodthirsty anticipation,

watching her,

preparing for what matters,

to him,

not her.

No longer necessary to fight,

she gave up,

too bad,

he thought

but hunger calls...

Visibly Puzzled

A frail,

gray bearded vampire

at under a tree,

his sharpened canines ground

together in exasperation.

His young student left without him,

to conquer the world,

he scratched his head,

visibly puzzled.

How could the young be so evil,

and how could they be so cruel?

No honor entered the dishonorable student,

he struck the teacher, from behind,

ripped and clawed at him angrily,

he blew the teacher away with one breath,

visibly puzzled, exasperated,

he clenched his fists so tightly,

that his nails ate away at his palms.

But he could not defend the honor of being a teacher,

because the student he taught was much too strong.

Choosing...

Death sat between Heaven and Hell,

flinched visibly,

waiting to choose,

as he looked up at dancing Angels,

and down at fire-breathing dragons.

Exotic breeds of animals everywhere above,

tortured souls and mutilated bodies below,

sour expressions,

he brought his hands together

and bowed,

submitting himself,

committing himself,

reliving the past,

he then chooses.

Death capered back and forth,

choosing carefully,

choosing wisely,

choosing nevertheless,

all in an eternal mess,

choosing Hell,

but who could really tell?

Blaming The Beast

Mother's grief,

disaster,

blaming the beast,

hurl curses

and invective at him.

Poison at her feet,

demons at the door,

deep breathing,

deep breath,

waiting for the confrontation,

and for the beast to sabotage the peace.

Emotions run high,

deep breathing,

deep breath,

watching the mother weep,

disaster at her feet,

and everyone keeps blaming the beast.

Vile Trickery

Although the teenage girl could not see his face,

his voice sounded sincere,

he called to her,

there was no fear,

at first,

so she listened.

His voice rumbled from somewhere deep within,

changed all of a sudden,

without a warning,

without a blame,

her heart was in a vise so tight,

no light could ever be so bright.

She looked up at him,

open defiance written all over her face,

his heart darkened,

so she fell to her knees.

Vile trickery,

he turned on the girl,

she protested, moving back, extended fingernails,

crushed her neck,

as she fell through the crack,

and blinded by vile trickery.

Come Sunday

" Father, I have sinned, forgive me."

Paying twenty dollars

for a ten dollar whore,

in a broken down motel room,

he closed the door.

Honorable acts went out the window,

woman on her back,

with no love in the heart,

just collecting her pay

for doing her part.

Come Sunday,

the Lord's time he gave for rest,

no worries today,

he has my back...

" Father, forgive me again, for I have sinned...."

No Sound At All

There was no sound,

there was no sound at all,

no one whistling,

no one calls,

there was no sound,

no sound at all.

A muffled cry,

a tear in the eye,

she shook violently,

but made no sound,

no thunder,

no pound,

there was no sound at all.

Her hands cupped over her ears,

her face wet with tears,

but there was no cry,

only wet eyes,

and no sound,

no sound at all,

no one caring,

suddenly she realized,

she lost her hearing.

All Gone

The sights that they see,

the sounds that they hear,

the feelings that they feel,

all gone when death arrives.

Motives,

none,

Love,

done,

the feeling that they feel,

all gone when death arrives.

Some Twisted

Twisted,

nothing left to see,

twisted minds,

nothing left for thinking,

only darkness,

and the loss of time.

He enters the room,

windows fogged,

markings left,

and the pillow is kicked to the floor.

Nightmares,

sometimes it's what she needs,

some twisted,

some free.
