ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Thanks to Cristina Norcross for her gracious endorsement, and to her husband John for entertaining the kids while Cristina reviewed this manuscript. As Cristina said (and I heartily agree), where would we be without a supportive other?
Thanks to those who have looked at one or more of these poems at some point in the past and offered encouragement or advice: Liz Rhodebeck, Grace Bridges, and others.
Thanks to my uniquely marvelous husband who with each passing year becomes more supportive and instrumental in my writing pursuits.
Thanks to my son for being himself, and for his interest in the literary arts. If only a genius video game designer would come up with an amazingly creative fusion of literary instruction and graphic gaming awesomeness, I would heavily invest in such.
Thanks to friends and family who love me and support me in spite of my singular turn of mind. I love you for loving me regardless.

FOREWORD
Chila Woychik’s wonderful new poetry collection The Summons and Other Poems speaks of a meditation on life through thoughtful poetics. The theme of a journey to renewed faith runs throughout the collection. Woychik skillfully weaves spiritual reflections through all four major sections of the book, including groups of poems highlighting creativity, friendship, snapshots of life and poems inspired by the sea.
