BOY AND HIS BRUMBY

He was sweating quite profusely, as the climb was steep, especially for an overweight man in his late fifties, unaccustomed to climbing in the heat of Central Australia in early summer. He breathed heavily as he searched for footholds in the rocks. A Iittle more effort and he would reach an undulating plateau of rocks, where gigantic boulders had been fused four miIIion years before.

Reaching the plateau, he sat wearily on a smooth boulder, his legs dangling. He sighed contentedly. He felt at ease with himself and happy to be there in that peace, free from his routine life in the city , over a thousand miles out there beyond the horizon.
