The Resurrection

Of King Tutankhamun

Chapter 1

Susana

Living in, San Jose across the Egyptian museum was a girl named Susana. Her father was an archeologist. She wanted to be an archeologist, too. Studying about ancient Egyptian history was her passion. She loved reading books about King Tutankhamun. At night, she thought if she were in Tut's sandals, how challenging her life would have been. It must have been exciting for King Tut to have so much power and money at such a young age.

Her father once brought her an amulet that once belonged to King Tut. While she was browsing through the National Geographic, she found a picture of some Pharaohs wearing a similar amulet around their neck. Since then she too started to wear the amulet around her neck.

Her mother was a biologist. She studied about living things. Susana loved her mom very much. Her mother was the main reason for Susana to get good grades.

Every Saturday, her mom (or dad if he is at home) would take her to the Egyptian museum.

At school, one day during class, her teacher announced that they would be going to an Egyptian museum in Chicago for a field trip. The teacher said to ask their parents for permission to travel. Assuming that her mother will grant consent, Susana started packing her bags and making plans. She did not wish to lose an opportunity such as this to visit the museum.

After her mother agreed, Susana felt very lucky that she could go with her friends and visit places. A few weeks later they were on their way to Chicago museum of Ancient history.

Chapter 2

Chicago museum of Ancient history

I am late for the IMAX movie," said Susana, while they were in the Chicago museum of Ancient history. She ran through the hall. She was scared the teacher would be angry if she found out that a classmate is missing. She got lost on her way to the IMAX Theater. There was a sign on the wall that said, "IMAX THEATER – LEFT". Susana accidentally took a right. Then she went through a door. Inside was a sign that said "Do Not Enter ". Susana did not read the message since she was in a hurry to get back to her classmates. Even though, her mind said go back, her legs were moving forward. She opened the door in front of her. The sign on the door had said "Authorized Personal Only".

Susan was amazed at what she saw. Wow, a room full of interesting artifacts that were buried with King Tut. Susana then realized that the death mask of king Tutankhamun that was in the display in the museum may be fake. She knew they were tricking people since the real one was here. They must be keeping it safe. Then something else caught her eye. Right in front of her was a box. Instead of a lock, it had an impression of an object. Looking at the shape of the imprint, Susana knew what would help unlock the box - her amulet. Luckily, she never took it off. She then tried to insert it. Once the amulet touched the lock it was a perfect fit. The box opened. Inside the box, it said in hieroglyphic (an ancient Egyptian writing, that Susana knew very well) "Here lies the soul of Tutankhamun", Who ever opens it will be have the privilege of meeting this pharaoh".

Susana then heard a loud banging. The loud sound was coming from King Tut's sarcophagus. She slowly opened and peeped inside it. The boy king stepped out. He was rapped in bandages from head to foot. The room smelled like rotten egg. Susana did not mind it, after all she had the rare experience of meeting one of the greatest rulers that lived on earth.

" Hello" said King Tut as he stepped out of his sarcophagus. He tripped and fell on the floor. He cried with pain and held on to his leg. Susana ran to him and held him. King Tut had forgotten that his leg was broken and that was the reason why he had died.

Susana asked King Tut with a surprised look on her face "How do you know English?"

"I learned in from the Internet " he said with a twinkle in his eye.

Chapter 3

King

Tut

Then Tutankhamun took a serpent like scepter that he held in his left hand and touched his leg and said "That should do some good." He was now able to walk without falling. The scepter had magical powers that the Pharaoh used to fix his broken leg.

" Can you tell me some details of where I am?" asked King Tut.

"Your majesty you are in the future, 2008 to be precise. It has been over 3000 years since you died." said Susana.

King Tut's eyes widened and his jaws opened showing all his teeth. He looked so royal even when he was bandaged. "Where is my father"?

"I need to meet him right away". Said King Tut in a commanding voice.

"Well he can not come here but you can go there" said Susana. But you must camouflage so no one can see you.

"Do I look like boy from your time? "asked King Tut. He understood clearly why Susana did not want him to be found by the museum staff. "I need clothes that will help me blend in this world. I hate being wrapped in bandages. Here give me a hand and begin by pulling this end while I start going round".

" Wear my T- shirt and my pants, I always have an extra pair in my back pack," said Susana. Now that King Tut was disguised she had little fear of them getting caught.

"I want to finish two things before I go back to becoming a mummy again – meet my parents and apologize to my father " said King Tut. He then covered his head with the hood from the T- shirt.

They walked off quickly down the hall towards King Akenhaten's sarcophagus. They ran into a museum authority in the hall. He stopped them and asked

"Where are you two going?"

"To find the mummy's daddy…I mean his daddy"

" Why is he was a disguise?" asked the officer. Clearly he was thinking that some kid was trying to play a trick.

" We have a Halloween costume party to go to, we must hurry". They took off and ran towards the door.

Susana took pride in her knowledge about the museum. Soon they were standing next to King Akenhaten's sarcophagus. It was placed in a glass box. She found the key near the door. It was not necessary since, King Tut used his scepter to open the sarcophagus.

The secpter also helped him resurrect his father back to life. King Akenhaten was so happy to meet his son. He hugged him and cried. He did not want to let him go. "I might have been a bad king but I wanted to be a good father" he said. "How did you die?" He asked his son.

King Tut told them how much he loved to chariot race. His half brother King Ay challenged him one day. King Tut was sure that he would win. King Ay tricked him by loosening some of the spokes in his chariot wheels. Close to the finish line, his wheels came out and King Tut fell to the ground. King Ay was right behind him, his Chariot ran over King Tut and his leg broke into multiple pieces. Soon, his wounds got infected and he died.

King Akenhaten was saddened to hear this. He suggested that they find King Ay's mummy. Susana told them that after King Tut died King Ay became the ruler of Egypt by tricking King Horemheb who was the true successor to the kingdom. He married King Tut's wife, too. After four years of ruling, King Horemheb killed King Ay and buried him in the valley of kings,. When they found King Ay's sarcophagus after almost 3000 years his mummy was missing. Some people believe that King Horemheb destroyed his mummy.

"I know where his mummy is……" said King Akenhaten.

Chapter 4

The Thanksgiving trip

King Akenhaten also had a scepter that had a cobra on its head. The scepter also had mystical powers. "King Tut please use your scepter to make yourself and your father small then I can put you in my back pack" said Susana.

"That’s a great idea" said King Tut. " How are we supposed to sleep, eat and breath?"

"No problem" said Susana. "I can give you crumbs of my dinner, a small pillow and I will keep the backpack open."

She then figured out how to get to Egypt. She decided to ask her mother if they can go to Egypt for Thanksgiving to be with her dad. Then she can tell her father the whole story since he was an archeleologist in Egypt and currently working to find King Ay's mummy. He would he very happy to see her.
