-1The Mind

I looked up and saw a beautiful man. I gazed into his eyes, where I was able to crawl through them and enter his mind. What I saw there was unbelievable. There were things that he had never told anyone, and more that he had told everyone. His secrets intrigued me to investigate further. I found the one I was hoping for . Not an uncommon secret, but it almost never remains so untouched.

His hopes and dreams, which I uncovered through my search, were entangled with his most valuable secret. He hoped for someone to love, until the dusk of his life. For his passion for profession, he dreamed of creating worlds to escape to from fearful realities. He wished to write of his unrealistic fantasies, and his unreachable goals. He wanted to write for those who wished for love, but did not receive it. For those who needed something, but had nothing. As well as for those who had compassion, but were surrounded by hatred.

Yet another entanglement of his most passionate secret was of his fears. His fear of losing the one he had not yet received. Even the fear of losing his fears, for fear is what drives a person to their personal best.

I had seen a lot of things that surprised me, and some that even delighted me, but there were a few things I had neglected to see so far. His mind was full of memories of the worst sort. There was one of his father taking off his belt and using it to beat him. I saw one of him and his father standing side by side in a small group of people wearing all black, which was what could only be his mother’s funeral. I had already concluded what had killed her. I could also see another memory of him gathering up everything that meant something to him, including a pendant from his mother, and running away.

Despite these horrible memories, there was love. There was no one to give it to, but there was indeed love. I could see that his heart was more pure than anyone could hope for, and I knew that I was the only one that understood so.

After I left his mind, I could see he was lost in mine. I knew then we were one in the same. He left my mind, and I knew he thought the same. As we walked toward each other, there was undeniably an air of happiness between us, which only enhanced my previous though. When we reached each other, our lips met. That was what finally showed me that we were indeed meant for each other, and there was no one who could convince me otherwise.

After a short but wonderful few seconds, we broke apart. There were people starting, in both shock and anger, but neither of us cared. We had never met, until today, but there was a peace between us that could not be described by words. We both decided that we should leave, so we walked, hand in hand, out of the library, and into a sun filled world that included light from more than one source.
