Self Identity

They put me in the prison cell

That is when I burned in hell

I looked around to see

Everything they thought of me

The walls, the floor, the ceiling

Staring back at me

Judging and labeling my microscopic existence

That had been amplified by their visions

Naked and surrounded by confusion

I waited ‘till they were done

Looking, smelling, hearing and tasting me

Exploring who they thought I was meant to be

Turning slowly I felt their words

As they molded who I was

Turning faster their words slapped me

Corner, wall, corner, wall

Turning fastest my clothes came on and off

Each slap altering my existence

Spinning so fast, I fell to the ground

When I stood up there was nothing to be found

No words, no slaps, only silence

There I stood with one thing they left behind

No longer was I so blind

I could see by the object’s reflection
