n the time before time there were too great Brothers who embodied the universe. They had no identity they just were. Together the two Brothers created the world. Each Brother gifted the world with beauty and awe. Then the first Brother created four beings to look over the world. Their names were Denosis, Oden, Peliotros, and Triten. They lived on Earth unaware of their own origins.
The gods lived peacefully on Earth for over four thousand years creating various oceans, valleys and the home of the gods called the Great Underground. That all changed when Denosis became arrogant and created the great serpent beast, Pythan to eliminate his fellow gods and become all powerful. The beast was at least a hundred feet in length and thicker than three tree trunks. The scales were bright emerald over its whole body except for its underbelly which was completely translucent. In its mouth lay three rows of teeth as thin as hairs but as sharp as daggers. Each row contained thousands of teeth. The beasts eyes were pitch black. Meanwhile Peliotros was wandering into the forest looking for a shady spot to relax instead he found Pythan slithering stealthily among the brush. Startled, he ran back to the other gods to warn them of the beast. All of the gods were present except Denosis so it didn’t take them very long to figure out who created the beast. They debated for a while until finally Oden volunteered to kill the beast. Peliotros led Oden to the forest where he had seen Pythan, whished Oden good luck, and started his journey back to the Great Underground, which was the dwelling place of the gods. Oden was soon swallowed up by the darkness of the forest as night fell. He proceeded cautiously with his battle axe in hand waiting for any sign of an attack. Finally at the brink of dawn he found Pythan drinking from a stream with his back toward him. Oden slipped silently through the brush and leapt on the serpents back and began hacking at its head. Irritated Pythan made a loud his and threw Oden off his back. Oden dazed, came back to his senses just when the serpent recoiled revealing its translucent belly. The serpent pounced and just as it did Oden leapt and crouched under the serpents belly where he cut the translucent skin spilling the serpents intestines and other contents. The beast fell with a loud thud and was no more. When he returned to the Great Underground he was congratulated by his fellow gods and became the ruler of the Underground. Since Peliotros warned the gods about the serpent menace he became the messenger of the gods. Denosis was captured and imprisoned in the deepest levels of the Great Underground and was never heard from again.
