My name is Reuben Weber. I was born in Vienna, Austria on April 13, 1656. I am the owner and proprietor of the "Green Dragon" inn on 921 Canon Lane. I proudly housed each of the boys who would prominently play enormous roles in these tales. First J. Sebastian Bach in 1688, age 11 at the time. Then Antonio Vivaldi in 1694, age 16 at the time. And finally, Johann 'Pach' Pachelbel in 1694 age 15 at the time. These tales are exciting and often times endearing, I really think you will like them if you just give them a chance.

12 In a Day by Graham Murray 12 In a Day by Graham Murray Feb. 10, 2012 $2.99 56524 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
I began my writing career quite by accident. Even while still in Grade school, I had an extraordinary knack for turning everyday events into stories, which I did. I was also obsessed with grammar, punctuation and spelling, always wanting to know more and always wanting to get it right. I’m still working on that one. To me, even at that young age, all of life seemed to be a series of stories; some sad, some happy, some tragic, and some . . . well, some were simply unbelievable and beyond words. It was those stories that piqued my interest and the reason why, today, much of my fiction is based around stories that either defy belief, or are so emotionally intense that they are difficult to comprehend and absorb. Unlike most writers, I am sorry to admit that I really do not remember when my first story was published. It must have been the mid 70s and was probably in Reader’s Digest. I do, however, remember the first award I received. I was eight years old, and was awarded a prize at school for Best Creative Writer, whatever that meant. I had written a simple, descriptive piece of prose, one page long about . . . well that story is actually published today and remains a mystery to many who read it as they try to guess what the story is about. It is called “The Return”. If you ever come across it, see if you can determine what the story is about. To date, nobody has ever guessed correctly first time, although one man did get it on his second guess. So, I began collecting my stories, as I used to just throw them away. Before long, I had a backlist as long as your arm and didn’t know what to do with them. I started sending them out to be published, and that’s when the bug really bit down hard and I become a ‘word junkie’. Yes, I admit; I’m a writing addict in a big way. Still, it wasn't all bad as I now make a living through writing, which is quite possibly the best job in the world. I’m no millionaire (almost), or JK, or Stephen King, and I know what an adverb is, but I’m a damn site happier than most folks I see embroiled in the corporate world, who always seem so miserable and are always looking to ‘move on’ or ‘move up’. I left the Joneses and the materialistic world behind years ago and have never looked back. It was a soul-cleansing experience as I now have only what I require, not what I want, because that way lies madness. Every day I see thousands of stories, just waiting to be written and it’s true what they say; that every writer includes a bit of themselves in their stories. I do the same thing, except that I will never reveal which bits are true and which are fiction. That I leave to my readers to decide. My stories are unusual inasmuch as I tend to make every word count, and in many of my tales, there are clues dotted around which, if missed by the reader, can result in them misunderstanding, or missing the point entirely. Readers who skim over paragraphs will most likely miss a great deal of what I write, especially in my short stories, where the ultimate clue can be a single word. While writing, I try to engage the reader as much as possible and then drop the bombshell at the very end; usually in the last paragraph or, sometimes, as the last line. This technique has held me in good stead over the years and I keep doing it. It seems that none of my readers ever tires of waiting to read that final line to find out what really happens. My work may not be to everyone’s liking, buy hey, you can’t win ‘em all. I write for the sheer thrill of it, and dedicate all of my work to my six-year old daughter, who remains my finest achievement and is the inspiration for most of my work. If you’re ever stuck for story ideas, watch a six-year old at play and open your mind. See the world through their eyes and your own world will be opened to possibilities you never imagined possible. If you like my work, tell 40,000 of your closest friends. If you don’t, tell me, and then tell me why. We are all of us merely players in a world gone mad, each of us trying to make our way in a time when the sky is the limit and we are limited only by our imaginations. As I completed my two degrees in medicine, I also write a lot of non-fiction; some of it medical and some of about publishing and the English language. The way I take a break from writing fiction, is to write some non-fiction. Weird, I know, but it works for me. Happy reading . . .

The chills are creeping up your neck, the unknown watch you from a breath away, and the long dead seem closer than ever… In the modern age, our five senses are constantly bombarded by the world around us: flashing screens, loud noises, barking, yelling, horn honking, billboards, bustling crowds, arrogant bosses, and the constant hustle of a busy schedule. It's hard to even think of having a moment alone. But it is when we are alone, that our sixth sense has a chance to surface. I invite you to take a moment, or two, for yourself to sit down, dim the lights and spend some time with the strange and the weird. Sift through some stories that will have you looking into dark corners, listening to the creeks of the floor, and wondering if the movement of your curtain is the work of something other than a breeze.

That picture isn't me. It's my much-loved Border Collie bitch, who I lost to a spinal tumour in April 2011. She deserves this memorial. I was born a very, very long time ago, very close to my mother in England. Now I live in Wales, which isn't England but is part of the UK. I've written all sorts of stuff, but mostly science fiction. It's sort of believable sci-fi - maybe it can't happen today, but might tomorrow, you know? The sci-fi novels are all on the theme of 'first contact' and the first one is being given away free. You'll have to pay for the others. Sorry. I've got other novels, short stories and things that are supposed to be funny too but whether they are is your decision, right? Some of the books are based on real incidents - I know they are, because they happened to me. There are five in total, I've released two, two are being tidied up and the last one won't be finished for a while yet. If you read one, remember it all happened to me and that I don't mind being laughed at. I'm used to it. A while back I released a free book, 'Top Of The Shop'. (If you're a writer you might want to read it. I'll say no more.) I've since released another one, 'Tea, Drums And Speed'. So now the first sci-fi novel is free, 'Top Of The Shop' is free, and there's a free volume of short stories. I must be mad, giving this stuff away. Mind you, it hasn't stopped me giving away a book of political thoughts. If you're from Wales, or British, or even interested in Welsh politics, it might be worth reading. There's also a free book about some films that appeal to me. You might find it interesting but I thought it would be a bit cheeky to want money for it. Have it on me. There's one little thing I don't understand. Of everything I've put on this site, I think the stories in 'Swift Shifts' are the funniest, yet it's the title that's looked at least often. Why is that, do you think? After a gap of several months I've now added a new three-story volume of funny stories. To balance this, there's a thoroughly miserrable one on its way! A word or two about my pricing strategy might be worthwhile. A lot of people on this site (and I apologise if I've got this wrong) quote prices that are just a bit cheaper than you'd see in a bookstore. I don't do that. Ebooks don't have production or distribution costs, so why should you, the book buyer, have to pay even a tiny share of something that doesn't exist? Isn't it better to spend, say, $3 on three little books than on just one? I want you to enjoy what I've written, and at a realistic cost to you that I can live with. Simple, isn't it? I'll add to this from time to time - there's no point saying everything at once, is there? You'd have no need to come back, would you?

Author bio:
Eric is a tinkerer; he likes to make things. Perhaps it began with a custom van built in the long-haired days of the seventies—an old school bus with an engine salvaged from the junk yard. Or with the dozens of motorcycles ridden, broken, repaired and ridden again. Eric has built furniture and guitars; he’s screen-printed t-shirts in his garage and he’s created package-design. As a teen he worked out a billing system for a huge newspaper route (because he didn’t like knocking on doors), and he currently writes software for corporate clients—for a time working out of the traveling RV he and Sue called home. He built and flew a gyrocopter over the cane-fields and beaches of south Florida, and he’s done website design. But of all the avocations and pass-times in which he’s dabbled, Eric stands most in awe of one. Consider that most elusive of creations—the story, words which capture your mind. Ink on paper, black on white—a collection of simple articulations woven into a journey bounded only by the imagination. After more than three decades in south Florida, Eric and lovely wife Susan moved to the Upstate region of South Carolina, where the nearby Appalachians clamor for exploration. When cranky knees allow it, bicycling is a favored indulgence, often on a laid-back recumbent. Motorcycling remains a life-long passion (he enjoys teaching the occasional weekend safety class to bright-eyed newbies, both young and old), and he forever persists in being confounded by the acoustic guitar. He was likely a cat in a previous life, as there’s a definite affinity. He might look odd to some as he tromps off with his dual walking sticks, a rear-view mirror clipped to his bill-cap. A little girl runs alongside to wave her hand and call out “Hi Mister ski-man!” Shhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Eric still wonders what it is that he’ll do, should he ever grow up….

"One of the very first baseball games that I ever went to, which was at old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, ended when Brooks Robinson drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th. I've been a fan and a believer ever since!" says Austin Gisriel who applies his writing talents to the Grand Old Game. Author bio:
Born in QLD Australia, to a middle class family; I guess you could say I was raised in a carefree yet strict manner. From an early age I found it hard to socialise with others, and quite often preferred my own company. I discovered very fast that I had more of an affinity with animals rather than the people around me. I moved to NSW at the age of 7 with my two elder sisters (10+ years my senior), who I always wished I could have been closer to in age; and my parents. While they did there best, they faught on most days (but always made sure that they told me that they loved me and provided me with most of the things I wanted). At the age of 14 I decided to rebel against my parents, my family and the world; I didn't get this rebellious mostly self destructive side out of my blood until reaching 23 years of age. That's when I got the biggest and most unexpected surprise of my life, I was soon going to be a mum. No, I wasn't prepared, nor was I ever what you would call a maternal type. Early on I had decided I mostly likely wouldn't have children, but saying that is one thing. And almost 10 years down the track (with a few hiccups along the way) I now have two lovely children; a man that works hard and loves typical Aussie bloke past times i.e. fishing, beer, 4WD's, BBQ's and his TV. Now in my early 30's I guess you could say I have grown into a semi stable, semi sane, good hearted, opinionated yet compassionate woman; combined with a love for poetry, art, helping others and learning; I have always dabbled with art and poetry mostly for my own therapy. However now I find myself with some spare time, I decided to take a re adventure into my creative side and share it with you all.

I'm not surprised you're here. What could be more interesting than reading about me? Besides reading "I've Been Deader," I mean. I'm a Leo. When I'm not avoiding process servers, I write. Horror, comedy, romance, sci-fi. I do it all. And all my stories have a smart dog and small child in them, so you know they'll be best sellers. Sometimes I go the movies alone, order two small popcorns and talk out loud to myself about what I think is going to happen next on the screen. I'm currently single, but she's due back any moment, so please keep the erotic chat on the down low. I can be contacted at: IBDeader@hotmail.com
